The Gas Well Training Pad project is moving along well. All the major props have been set in place. We have installed several 400 barrel tanks, two gas production units (GPU’s), a horizontal and vertical separators, pump jack derrick, and well head with cellar to name a few.
The props are being piped to burn propane fuel that would represent various incidents in which first responders may be dispatched. The propane is being stored onsite in two 1000 gallon propane tanks which will include a liquid pump and vaporizer to boost the propane to the props. The gas will be controlled to the props from a control tower constructed near the entrance of the pad. In addition, Act 9 required signage has been installed around the training pad to replicate signage that would be seen at an actual well site.
As the project nears completion, in addition to the Washington County Department of Public Safety we have partnered with the Tri County Oil & Gas Expo Committee, Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner, and the Washington County Commissioners to present the Fire & Safety Training Experience on Saturday, September 12, 2015 starting at 8:00 am. There is NO COST TO ATTEND this event. For more information or to register for the event, please click on the following link; Tri County Oil & Gas Expo
Completion of the project will ensure that emergency responders will have the ability to receive valuable hands on training and technical knowledge involving these types of emergencies. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of the project.
